“Start spreading the news,” Sinatra sang. That’s just what media outlets have done this spring since BBG announced the full integration of Leitner Group Inc., the eminent New York firm we acquired last year. (Our New York team, with Joel Leitner still in charge, is now doing business as “BBG, formerly Leitner Group.”)
BBG’s notable employee demographics, expertise on CRE trends and involvement in community events also garnered positive press. Here’s a roundup of recent coverage.
BBG is in “expansion mode,” Commercial Property Executive reported in April. BBG grew more than 30 percent in 2014, due in part to the acquisition. BBG now has a strong presence and robust client relationships in the New York region, as well as expanded offices in Phoenix, Denver, San Diego and Indianapolis.
Most real estate appraisers are well over 50, and that’s cause for industrywide concern. Large numbers will retire soon, with too few new appraisers to take their place. The industry has rising stars, though, and they seem to take a shine to BBG, where a full third of our appraisers are under 40. BBG CEO Diane Butler’s bylined article in the April issue of the Mann Report explains why BBG consistently attracts younger talent, bucking the aging appraiser trend.
GlobeSt.com also tapped Butler’s expertise for a Q&A on CRE trends. BBG is “at the center of the market’s most sweeping trends: the non-stop deal flow, the rise of CMBS and buyers’ increasing eagerness—or aggressiveness—to get deals done,” GlobeSt.com reports.
A record turnout of more than 1,300 CRE pros and guests raised over $1 million at The Real Estate Council’s Fight Night in April. Bisnow was on hand to photograph Butler, TREC vice chairwoman, alongside TREC chairwoman Sue Ansel and Fight Night chairman Bill Vanderstraaten. D Magazine also published a photo recap of the event.
As a Dallas-based company, we were gratified to hear what Inbee Park, the winner of this year’s LPGA North Texas Shootout tournament, had to say about Las Colinas Country Club: “I love this golf course. Some people say it’s tough to play on, but I really like it. I’ve been playing really good the last three years here, and I love to come here and play. The crowds here, the atmosphere is great, so I love to come to Texas.” BBG was a Caddy Bib Sponsor of the LPGA event, and a VIP Sponsor of the previous week’s CREW Dallas Golf Classic.
